MIKE JOHNSON
President
Mike was born and raised in Holstein Iowa. He started Holstein Electric in 1991. Mike is a master electrician with expertise in many different areas of the field. Mike has built the company around work ethic and trust. He’s always believed in leading by example and delivering on his promises. Holstein Electric has multiple employees that have been with us 25+ years and Mike will be the first to tell you that this wasn’t possible without them.
When Mike is not at work you can find him on the golf course, doing outdoors work around the house, and playing with his grandkids.
NANCY Johnson
CEO
Nancy has been around the Electrical industry in some capacity her entire life. Her and Mike have been in business together since 1996. She runs many HR and accounting functions within the business. Nancy is passionate about helping others succeed and volunteering her time wherever it is needed.
When she is not working or volunteering you can find her spending time with her grandkids, her puppy sunny, and on the lake.
Nathan Nees
Vice President
Nate graduated from Central College in 2006 where he majored in Business Management. He grew up in the Electrical world working on many jobs around the area. He has been in management and customer service for the last 16 years. He lives by the motto “when we listen to our customers and employees great things will happen.” Nate most recently oversaw the US for Jim Pattison Lease where his team handled fleet management for many companies within the trades. Nate moved back to buy into the family business with Taylor. Together they are excited to build on what has already been started.
Nate, his wife Lindsay, and their two boys Beckham and Parker reside in the North Sioux City area. When Lindsay and Nate are not at their boys sporting events you can find them cheering on their beloved Cyclones and spending time in Okoboji.
Taylor nees
Vice President
Taylor is part owner of the company and has been in the Electrical field his entire life. When he came back from school he joined us as an apprentice. From there he got his journeyman and acquired his Masters in 2018. Taylor moved into an estimating and project management role early in his career. He now oversees our estimation department, project managers, and control division. Taylor also started our apprenticeship program as he has a passion for teaching the trade to the next generation.
Taylor his wife Dani and baby Walker reside in Holstein Iowa. When Taylor is not working you can find him tending to his cows, hanging with his family, and working on anything.
KILY
Accounting
Kily has been a part of the Holstein Electric team since 2015. She helps keep the office run smoothly by handling accounting, project management, and a variety of day-to-day administrative tasks. From answering phones to supporting projects behind the scenes, she enjoys being involved in a little bit of everything and helping our team stay organized and on track.
She has lived in Iowa her entire life and currently lives in a small town with her husband, four kids, and their dog. She says Life outside of work is busy and rewarding as she spends much of her time keeping up with her kids’ activities and enjoying the simple things that come with small-town living. When she has a quiet moment, she enjoys relaxing with a good book
shane welcher
controls specialist
Shane Welcher Sr started his electrical journey as an apprentice in 1999, obtaining his Journeyman License in 2003. Throughout his career he has ran electrical install projects for many companies including Pepsi and Coca-Cola. Shane was also the lead maintenance tech for Kellogg’s in Augusta, GA where he specialized in PLC logic for machinery in the food industry.
Shane has extensive background in PLC programming and HMI programming along with medium voltage systems such as ABB and Rockwell automation. He prides himself on working with engineers and owners alike to develop and make machines more efficient and operator friendly.
Shane is an avid learner and teacher of PLC,HMI, Scada Systems, and drive controls. He is one of the best in the business.
While Shane is not working you can find him in the gym, working on his cars, and hanging out with his family.
